Flynn Geissel; New Paintings
Extended to May 20
Opening Reception and Artist Talk Saturday, March 17, from 4:00 until 6:00 pmPlease join Wohlfarth Galleries for a reception on March 17 at 4:00 Pm for an exhibit of new works by Flynn Geissel. These works include impressionist and near abstractions of the landscape that capture the interplay of light and mood.
The aim of Flynn's art is to capture the human experience of nature, to engage the viewer with the hidden forces in nature. The color palette of nature is reduced to its bare essentials, focusing the viewer on the forces behind nature, rather than the natural objects themselves. In the work, light seems to emerge triumphantly from a ground of darkness, conveying a feeling of victory and inspiration. Flynn's works represent her many landscapes of residence including California, Utah, and Maryland.
The artist has been exhibited internationally and at two American museums. Flynn is also a regular exhibiting artist in New York City and in juried shows across the nation.
